| 06/14/94 RMIUG Meeting
- Internet System Administration Panel
The June 14 Rocky Mountain Internet Users
Group will try something different. Chris
Fedde of US West will facilitate a question
and answer session where a panel of network
and system administration professionals
will answer your questions about how network
and Internet services are provided. If you
are a network user this is your chance to
ask the hard questions. If you are an administrator
this is your opportunity to share ideas
with your peers.
Panel members include: Evi Nemeth of the
University of Colorado evi@cs.colorado.edu,
John Matthews of US West matthews@mis.uswest.com,
Randy Holt of Intergraph rholt@camus.edaca.ingr.com
and Trent Hein of XOR Network Engineering
trent@xor.com. Please email any questions
you would like discussed to Chris Fedde
chris@engineer.mrg.uswest.com, or
ask them directly to the panel at the meeting.
We will have Internet books that can be
checked out of our virtual library. Thanks
to RMIUG members Joe Betts and Bo (the Bohemian)
for organizing the RMIUG library. Please
return any books you borrowed last time.
The meeting is Tuesday, June 14 from 7:00
- 9:00 pm (with optional 6:30 pm start for
informal networking and refreshments). The
meeting will be held at NCAR -- National
Center for Atmospheric Research -- in Boulder,
which is located on the west end of Table
Mesa Drive, up the hill, right under the
Flatirons. Park in the NCAR lot, go in the
main door, and ask the guard to point you
to meeting, which is held in the auditorium.
There is no cost for the meeting. Please
RSVP to ac551@freenet.hsc.colorado.edu
or phone 447-3475 if you plan on attending.
Thanks to Internet One of Boulder for sponsoring
refreshments.
Consultants and companies are invited
to bring Internet-related product information,
brochures, and business cards which will
be displayed on an information table. There
will be literature at the June and July
RMIUG meetings from exhibitors at the Mecklermedia
Internet World 94 conference which just
occurred in San Jose. At least six RMIUG
members attended the conference and three
were invited presenters.
There is close-in parking available at
NCAR for the physically challenged. For
detailed information about NCAR accessibility,
please call NCAR at 429-3340 and talk to
Facilities.
There is an email mailing list set up
for this group. General information can
be obtained by sending an Email to rmiug@rmiug.org
which will generate an auto-reply that tells
you about the group and how to subscribe.
The July 12 RMIUG speaker will be Neal McBurnett
(and possibly Wally Wedel) from the Boulder
Community Network, and watch for a possible
upcoming meeting on encryption, Clipper,
cryptography, PGP, privacy, etc.
