03/14/95 RMIUG Meeting - Phil Zimmerman - Pretty Good Privacy

For the March 14th meeting of the Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group (RMIUG), we are honored to host Colorado's own Phil Zimmermann, the "notorious cryptographer", who authored the world famous encryption program, Pretty Good Privacy (PGP). Mr. Zimmermann will speak on Cryptography and Civic Hygiene: The role of cryptography in a free society. He will describe his work creating PGP and the ongoing investigation of him by the US government.

IMPORTANT!! - PLEASE NOTE: This meeting is likely to fill up! Then we have reached the legal fire code capacity of the room, no further people can be admitted. Please show up early if you would like to be guaranteed a seat. We apologize in advance if you are not able to be admitted and have to be encrypted and jettisoned into cyberspace.

The meeting is Tuesday, March 14th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm (with optional 6:30 pm start for informal networking and refreshments). The meeting will be held at NCAR -- National Center for Atmospheric Research -- in Boulder, which is located (at 1850 Table Mesa Drive) on the west end of Table Mesa Drive, up the hill, right under the Flatirons. Park in the NCAR lot, go in the main door, and ask the guard to point you to meeting, which is held in the main auditorium. There is no cost for the meeting.

Thanks to Internet One of Boulder for their continuing sponsorship of RMIUG refreshments. Also, thanks to NCAR for use of the auditorium in the Table Mesa Lab, and for the ongoing assistance of the NCAR evening staff and of Shelby Pillow. We also appreciate the generous help of XOR Network Engineering for maintaining our online presence and mailing lists.

Consultants and companies are invited to bring Internet-related product information, brochures, and business cards which will be displayed on an information table.

There is an email mailing list set up for this group. General information can be obtained by sending an Email to rmiug@rmiug.org which will generate an auto-reply message that tells you about the lists and how to subscribe. You can also reach the RMIUG "Executive" Committee via email at rmiug-comm@rmiug.org.
