03/14/95 RMIUG Meeting - Phil Zimmerman - Pretty Good Privacy
For the March 14th meeting of the Rocky
Mountain Internet Users Group (RMIUG), we
are honored to host Colorado's own Phil
Zimmermann, the "notorious cryptographer",
who authored the world famous encryption
program, Pretty Good Privacy (PGP). Mr.
Zimmermann will speak on Cryptography and
Civic Hygiene: The role of cryptography
in a free society. He will describe his
work creating PGP and the ongoing investigation
of him by the US government.
IMPORTANT!! - PLEASE NOTE: This meeting
is likely to fill up! Then we have reached
the legal fire code capacity of the room,
no further people can be admitted. Please
show up early if you would like to be guaranteed
a seat. We apologize in advance if you are
not able to be admitted and have to be encrypted
and jettisoned into cyberspace.
The meeting is Tuesday, March 14th from
7:00 - 9:00 pm (with optional 6:30 pm start
for informal networking and refreshments).
The meeting will be held at NCAR -- National
Center for Atmospheric Research -- in Boulder,
which is located (at 1850 Table Mesa Drive)
on the west end of Table Mesa Drive, up
the hill, right under the Flatirons. Park
in the NCAR lot, go in the main door, and
ask the guard to point you to meeting, which
is held in the main auditorium. There is
no cost for the meeting.
