The June 20th meeting of the Rocky Mountain
Internet Users Group (RMIUG) will feature
a presentation "The Future of the Internet"
by Cricket Liu (cricket@hp.com),
one of Hewlett Packard's Internet experts.
He will discuss the future of the Internet
-- including where the Internet is today,
what problems it is facing, and possible
scenarios for the growth and development
of the Internet.
Cricket recently coauthored the book "Managing
Internet Information Systems" and also was
a principle of another definitive book on
networks titled "DNS and Bind" ... so he
is quite qualified to talk on this subject.
The meeting is Tuesday, June 20th from
7:00 - 9:00 pm (with optional 6:30 pm start
for informal networking and refreshments).
The meeting will be held at The Department
of Commerce (NIST) Building at 325 Broadway
in Boulder, one traffic light South of Baseline.
This facility holds 510 people. Park in
the Dept. of Commerce lot, go in the main
door (faces East), and ask the guard to
point you to meeting, which is held in the
main auditorium (just to the right of the
main entrace). There is no cost for the
meeting since Colorado SuperNet is sponsoring
the June meeting and covering the room charge.
RMIUG appreciates the continueing support
from Internet One of Boulder for sponsoring
refreshments and XOR Network Engineering
for administration of RMIUG's electronic
discussion lists & World Wide Web site.
Consultants and companies are invited
to bring Internet-related product information,
brochures, and business cards which will
be displayed on an information table.
There is close-in parking available at
The Department of Commerce Building for
the physically challenged. For more information
about Dept. of Commerce accessibility, please
call 497-3000.
There is an email mailing list set up
for this group. General information can
be obtained by sending an Email to rmiug@rmiug.org
which will generate an auto-reply message
that tells you about the lists and how to
subscribe. You can also reach the RMIUG
"Executive" Committee at rmiug-comm@rmiug.org.
