| 11/12/96 RMIUG Meeting
- ISP Fest '96
The November 12th meeting of the Rocky
Mountain Internet Users Group (RMIUG) will
feature a panel of Internet Service Providers
(ISP's) in Colorado.
These companies offer individuals and
businesses access to the Internet worldwide
computer network, similar to the way phone
companies offer telephone connections. The
panel will be discussing service options,
prices, and will answer extensive questions
from the audience. We have had two other
ISP-fests (Jan/95 and Sep/95) ... and with
a smaller panel, we hope to be able to hear
how things are changing for "ISP's" as the
Internet becomes increasingly competitive
and big companies such as MCI and AT&T are
entering this market.
ISP's participating include:
- E.Central (Ted Pinkowitz, tap@ecentral.com)
$SPONSER$
- Eazy.Net (Terri Richardson, terrir@eazy.net)
$SPONSER$
- Indra's Net (Shelli Meyers, sam@indra.com)
- Stonehenge (Brian Bostwick, bostwick@henge.com)
$SPONSER$
- Supernet (Guy Cook, gcook@sni.net)
$SPONSER$
Note: RMIUG appreciates the $50 donation
from the ISP's listed above as $SPONSER$
to help cover the room rental and copy costs.
If you have any questions you may want
these people to mull over in advance, pls
either send them directly to the person
above or to alek@rmiug.org.
The meeting is Tuesday, November 12th
from 7:00 - 9:00 pm (with optional 6:30
pm start for informal networking and refreshments).
The meeting will be held at the Department
of Commerce (NIST) Building at 325 Broadway
in Boulder, one traffic light South of Baseline.
This facility holds 510 people. Park in
the Dept. of Commerce lot, go in the main
door (faces East), and find the main auditorium
just to the right of the main entrance.
The meeting is free and open to the public,
but we will be passing the hat to defray
the room rental charge we incur.
RMIUG appreciates the ongoing support
from XOR Network Engineering for administration
of RMIUG's electronic discussion lists &
WWW site and Internet One of Boulder for
sponsoring refreshments.
Consultants and companies are invited
to bring Internet-related product information,
brochures, and business cards which will
be displayed on an information table.
There is an email mailing list set up
for this group. General information can
be obtained by sending an Email to rmiug@rmiug.org
which will generate an auto-reply message
that tells you about the lists and how to
subscribe. You can also reach the RMIUG
"Executive" Committee at rmiug-comm@rmiug.org.
